The Year 2000 Problem
There has been a lot of press coverage lately about the impending disaster that will be caused by the rollover of the 1900's into 2000's. This is a problem for applications that were written to keep the year as a two digit value. Most of them will consider 2000 to be 1900!
Some estimate that fixing these problems will cost industry hundreds of billions of dollars.
Since our translation systems already gather and process information about how programs use data, it is a simple matter for us to trace usage of date fields and modify programs and files that contain two digit dates to correctly handle the turn of the century.
